The inspiration for this iconic collection of poufs arose when we saw the award-winning photo of the photographer George Stoyle that shows a colorful jellyfish floating in the deepness of sea.
Thanks to their fringes, which imitate the thin tentacles, the poufs seem to float elegantly like jellyfish that drift along the sea currents.
We chose to use the velvet because its reflections make Medusa look alive and vibrant, like a jellyfish floating deep in the water hit by a ray of sun.
“Jellyfish” in Italian is said “Medusa”, the same name of the mythological character.
Probably the historical reason for this homonymy is because the dome and tentacles of the jellyfish remind the head of Medusa.
It’s an evocative name, we liked it, we chose it.
