The Duara collection was born from a fascination with the traditional wooden and wicker chairs of the region surrounding Lake Malawi. A place where untamed nature remains the true protagonist and where local artisans have long crafted a distinctive seating, characterised by an essential eucalyptus wood structure, a semicircular backrest, and decorative wicker weaves that bear the unique mark of each maker’s hand.
Through our own interpretation, we reworked this traditional seat using contemporary, high-performance materials suited to outdoor environments: steel and rope.
By adopting steel as the structural material for its characteristic ductility and resistance, we were able to emphasise the essentiality of the structure, minimising its footprint while lending it lightness and a modern character. The rope, in turn, replaced the wicker, offering a comfortable and durable covering that stands the test of time.
The family currently includes a dining chair, an armchair, a sofa and two coffee tables in different shapes and heights, which can be freely combined and even stacked together.
